Saturday Seacoast Roundup: Avery, Orso lead York softball, more results

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Maine - Nya Avery had three hits and three RBIs and Sarah Orso had three hits as the York High School softball team beat Greely, 13-2 on Saturday, May 30 in a Class B South game.

York snapped Greely's nine-game win streak and improved to 12-1 with three games left in the regular season. The game was called after six innings due to the 10-run rule.

“The girls came out fired up to play today from pitch one against a top team scoring four runs in the first inning," York head coach Kevin Giannino said.

Maya Babcock, Maddie Fitzgerald, Eva Gallucci all had two hits for the Wildcats, while Anna Fletcher had two RBIs. Orso scattered five hits and struck out six over six innings.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Maine - Sophomore Dom Glover had a team-high four hits for York in its Class B South loss. Zach Tremblay and Henry Ober both had two hits for the Wildcats.

Kaiden Clary, Lachlan McMorris and Mason Deeney all threw for York.

YARMOUTH, Maine - Ella Neiverth had two goals and Elouise McAllister had one goal and one assist for Class B York in its loss at Class C NYA.

Kylie Buckley had one assist for the Wildcats, and goalie Piper Schambach had 11 saves.

Traip Academy 15

FRYEBURG, Maine - Keira Durgin had five goals for Class C Traip in its win at Class B Fryeburg.

Sam Latchaw added four goals for the Rangers, while Maddy Rohan had three, Harper Malmquist two, and Shea Johnson one. Traip goalie Maddy Guay had 16 saves.
