Did Luke Kornet save the Spurs' season in Game 7 with huge block?

Even with the majesty that is watching Victor Wembanyama defy the laws of physics on the basketball court, San Antonio Spurs center Luke Kornet may have made the play of the season for his team.

During Saturday night's Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals in Oklahoma City, the Thunder saw a perfect opportunity to flip momentum in the fourth quarter. Center Isaiah Hartenstein came up with a steal with his team down 97-91 and looked clear for a dunk to put his team within four.

That would have put the Spurs on the defense with the lead collapsing against the hosting team. However, Kornet flew in to save the day and get the block. That play arguably kept the Thunder from seizing momentum and gave the Spurs just enough of a jolt to close out key minutes and book a trip to the NBA Finals.

You never know who will step up in the playoffs when you need them most. On Saturday night, it was Kornet.
