Barcelona open to signing free-agent striker but only under one condition

Barcelona’s search for a long-term centre-forward continues to dominate planning, but one player who has offered himself to the club is currently far from the top of the priority list.

According to SPORT, Dusan Vlahovic remains keen on a move to Camp Nou and has already made his interest known to Barcelona, although the Blaugrana have explained their position plain and simple.

It must be noted that the Serbian striker is facing an uncertain future at Juventus and could soon become one of the most attractive opportunities on the market.

However, despite the circumstances surrounding the player, Barcelona are not prepared to alter their transfer strategy at this stage.

The Catalan club has a clear roadmap for strengthening the attack, and Vlahovic is currently viewed as a second or a third backup option rather than a primary target.

The Juventus forward is expected to hold fresh talks with the Italian club regarding his contract situation, but optimism surrounding a renewal appears limited.

After months of discussions, the two parties remain far apart on financial terms, increasing the likelihood that Vlahovic will leave Turin and become available on favourable terms.

The report states that Vlahovic’s dream is to wear the Barcelona shirt and that he has already expressed his willingness to join the club.

In fact, he is reportedly prepared to accept almost any role within Hansi Flick’s squad if it means securing a move to Camp Nou.

This is because the club knows that the striker’s salary demands could fit within their structure, particularly if he arrives under favourable conditions.

Even so, there has been no concrete move from the Blaugrana because they believe they have stronger options available and do not want to divert attention away from their main objectives.

In that regard, Barcelona’s sporting department have identified Julian Alvarez as their preferred option.

Furthermore, should that pursuit ultimately fail, Barcelona are also believed to be monitoring Harry Kane and only if those plans prove impossible would Barcelona begin evaluating more affordable alternatives like Vlahovic.
