AUBURN — Alex Golesh and his Auburn football coaching staff have made plenty of headway on the recruiting trail since the end of spring practices, landing eight commitments for their 2027 recruiting class.
They got their ninth pledge Sunday, May 31, adding cornerback Nash Johnson, a consensus three-star prospect who had been committed to Alabama until early April.

Johnson, a Georgia native, ranks as the eighth-best prospect in what's now a 10-commit contingent for the Tigers according to 247Sports composite ratings, but his addition feels like a foreshadow for a flurry of incoming pledges. Golesh had posted five "bat signals" — which he's posted whenever Auburn's landed a high-school commitment — to his personal X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, account this weekend.
With Johnson, Auburn's class should move up in the team rankings, going from 33rd to 28th in 247's listing. It'd move up just one spot in the SEC's class rankings, leapfrogging Missouri for the league's eighth-best recruiting class.
