Ravens coach Anthony Levine Sr. praises rookie punter Ryan Eckley

It's still early, but rookie punter Ryan Eckley has already caught the attention of Baltimore's coaching staff. Asked what stands out most about Eckley, special teams coordinator Anthony Levine Sr. didn't hesitate when discussing the rookie's early performance and approach.

"Ryan Eckley's confidence," Levine said. "His confidence is crazy."

Levine believes confidence is one of the most important traits a punter can possess, especially for a rookie making the transition to the NFL. So far, he believes Eckley has shown plenty of it.

"His confidence is through the roof," Levine said.

The Ravens have also been encouraged by Eckley's behind-the-scenes preparation and commitment. Levine said the rookie has consistently put in the work required to improve and adapt to the professional game.

"He works hard. His work ethic is top notch," Levine said.

Levine also appreciates the personality Eckley brings to the field.

"I love his confidence, and I love how he feels about himself, his swagger," Levine said.

While the real evaluation will come once games begin, Eckley's confidence, work ethic, and demeanor have made a strong first impression during his first offseason in Baltimore.
