The Green Bay Packers will enter another season expecting to see more of running back MarShawn Lloyd on the field.
The 2025 season was supposed to be where Lloyd would have given Green Bay enough flashes of what he’s capable of in the NFL, but health issues held him back.

In fact, he did not play a single snap during the 2025 campaign, as Green Bay went with Emanuel Wilson as the chief backup to bellcow running back Josh Jacobs.
Now, Lloyd is looking healthy once again, and he seems to be determined to finally showcase his talents and contribute to Green Bay’s offense amid doubts on his abilities and especially on his availability.
Packers RB Lloyd wants to prove himself in 2026 NFL season
“I’m excited to prove the ones that are excited right and the ones that are not excited, I’m going to prove them wrong,” Lloyd said on Tuesday, via Dominique Yates of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “If I want to change that narrative, prove it.”

Lloyd was a third-round pick by Green Bay (88th overall) in the 2024 edition of the NFL draft, but he only played a game in his rookie season and has not played in another NFL game since.
With legal troubles hounding Jacobs, the need for Lloyd to be ready when called upon has become bigger.
It is one thing to be healthy in the OTAs and in training camp, and its’ completely another to be out there and ready to go during the season. Hopefully for Green Bay, the 2026 season is finally Lloyd’s time to turn heads with his performance and not due to injuries.
The former USC Trojans running back rushed for 820 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns on 116 carries during his last college football season in 2023.
Green Bay running back Lloyd (32) and Indianapolis Colts cornerback Chris Lammons (38) miss a long pass on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, during a game against the Green Bay Packers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
