Columbus NWSL group seeks fan input in naming women's soccer team

Columbus' NWSL franchise is asking fans to share their input to help determine its team name.

On June 1, a 10-question fan survey was shared via social media and email to the team's future supporters. Along with asking fans what they would name the team, the survey includes questions that could help influence the team's logo and colors.

At the top of the survey, fans are asked about their connection to Columbus and whether they've ever attended a women's sporting event.

Fans who respond to the survey have the chance to win team apparel, such as a hoodie or scarf.

Even before Columbus was awarded the NWSL's 18th team on April 21, Crew President of Business Operations Mary Shepro stated that the franchise would seek community feedback in building the brand.

"We want it to reflect our city, our region, the history of women's sports here," Shepro said on April 3. "So, we're really excited about what the community will come up with."
